    The ingredients needed to make Fried Dhoka:

    1. Prepare 2 &1/2 cups chana dal or bengal gram
    2. Get 2 " ginger piece
    3. Take 3-4 green chillies
    4. Make ready 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    5. Take 1 & 1/2 tsp cumin powder
    6. Make ready 1 tsp sugar
    7. Prepare to taste Salt according
    8. Make ready 2 tbsp+ 1 cup mustard oil
    9. Prepare For tempering
    10. Prepare 1/2 tsp nigella seed
    11. Make ready 1 tsp aniseed or fennel seed
    12. Prepare 1/4 tsp asafetida or hing

    Instructions

    Instructions to make Fried Dhoka:

    1. Wash and soak chana dal in water for 6-7 hours.
    2. Now wash the lentil with running water for 2 to 3 times and strain the excess water.
    3. Take lentil along with green chillies, ginger and grind to a fine paste.
    4. In a kadai heat oil.
    5. Tamper with asafetida, nigella seeds and fennel seeds. Fry for a couple of seconds.
    6. Now add ground lentil paste to the kadai.
    7. Also add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar and cook until the mixture comes off the sides clean.
    8. Now grease a plate with a little amount of oil.
    9. Once the lentil cooked, transfer it to a plate.
    10. Apply oil on your hands and immediately pat the paste into a cake.
    11. Once it cools down, cut into desired piece.
    12. Now heat a kadai with oil.
    13. Deep fry the lentil cakes or dhoka's till golden brown on both sides.
    14. Serve hot fried dhoka's with coffee or tea.
